PROCEEDINGS OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF MITCHELL/WORTH COUNTY, IOWA

The Board of Supervisors of Mitchell County and Worth County convened at 12:00 p.m. at the Carpenter Bar & Grill in Carpenter, IA. Present from Worth County were Supervisors Jeff Creger, David Haugen, Dennis May and Auditor Kay Clark. Present from Mitchell County were Supervisors Bob Marreel, Joel Voaklander, Stan Walk and Auditor Lowell Tesch. Also present was Assistant County Engineer Rich Brumm.

Motion by Marreel, second by May to approve the agenda. All voted aye.

Reviewed the salary package of Assistant Engineer Rich Brumm. A salary comparison of county’s that share an Engineer was also reviewed. After discussion, motion by Marreel, second by Creger to approve a salary step increase of $10,000 ($5,000 from each county) for a salary of $75,000 to Assistant Engineer Richard Brumm retroactive to January 1, 2010. Also, effective July 1, 2010 Rich Brumm will be promoted to County Engineer with a salary of $85,000. The additional pay will be reflective on the lower end of what dual Iowa County Engineers receive for a salary.  Average dual county engineer’s salary is $105,755.  Roll call vote: all ayes.
