Director’s report:

  1. Parks are looking good.  I had to have a talk with Green’s Keeper about their mowing, they have done a much better job this last time.
  2. Memorial week end was very busy at Kuennen’s and Silver Lake.  I wrote 7 citations and easily could have doubled the number if things would have worked out differently.  Had an electrical problem at Silver Lake, turned out to be a bad breaker at the main box.
  3. We have not heard from Skip, he was supposed to have his trailer at KQ by last weekend.
  4. We had a black bear walk through the county this weekend.  May still be here.
  5. Still waiting for Krafka to paint the door jabs at Kuennen’s.
  6. We started to put up the swing set at Kuennen,s but one of the top rails was not correct.  The replacement rail arrived damaged, so we are waiting for another replacement.
  7. The plans have arrived for the bridge at Worth Co. Lake.  I have approved them and sent them back.  Hope to remove the old bridge next week.  We will probably have to pull the parking barricades to get the bridge into the park.
  8. Signed an agreement with Iberdrola to mow around the wind turbines for their research.  We will be paid $100 per tower that has transects and $150 per tower that is completely mowed.
  9. NRCS came and inspected our two CREP properties.   They were very happy with the results.
  10. The concrete from the old rest room at Deer Creek has been cleaned up.  Will put down black dirt this fall for seeding over the area.
  11. I have sent the final habitat stamp billing in for the Wallin purchase.
  12. All of the corn for food plots has been planted, fertilized and Brett just started spraying today.  We have to plots of sorghum that will be planted next week.

Smith moved to accept the Director’s report.  Second by Sime.  Motion carried.

There was a short discussion on the issues the CCDA planned to present to the ISAC legislative committee and how the new process would work.

The Director talked about some items that may require some rule changes.  They were: trampolines in the park, sun shades/tents, loud music (need a decibel rating?), and fire wood when the ban is in place do to EAB.  The board recommended that we watch these issues this summer and see how much of a problem we have.

There was discussion on a possible location for a new office and shop.  The Director was asked to talk with the owner and the supervisors.

After reporting on the last inspection by the workers comp insurance, the Director was asked to place approval of the policies that are ready on the agenda for the next meeting.

The Director was instructed to purchase a spot on “Talk of the Town” when they are in Northwood and have Block talk about the adult programs.

Anyone interested in attending the Dist 2 meeting will call the office.
